Niels Edward Pedersen was born May 26, 1865 on a farm at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa to John Pedersen Maakestad and Marthe Nielsdatter Johnson, the fourth of their eight children.
He was baptized on July 1, 1866 at the First Lutheran Church at St. Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.
Found in the 1870 census living at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa: John Peterson 32, Martha Peterson 29, Peter Peterson 11, Wrene Peterson 8, Edward Peterson 5, Joseph Peterson 3 mos, Andrew Angarrus.
Niels E. Pedersen died on December 16, 1872 at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa and was bried at the Riverview Cemetery, Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa, lot #53.
His parents later moved to Clear Lake, Iowa.
There is a memorial for him at FindAGrave #19826695.
