(Died April 20, 2015)

Marvin Walter Wetter, age 87, of Orchard, Iowa, died Monday, April 20, 2015, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery with a flag presentation by Orchard American Legion Post 641. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.

Marvin was born June 18, 1927, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Walter and Selma (Johnson) Wetter. He attended school in Orchard. Marvin served in the U.S. Army. On January 7, 1950, he married Patricia Plunkett in Osage. Marvin was a farmer. He also did corn shelling and trucking for area farmers and installed field tiles. He was a member of the Orchard American Legion. Marvin enjoyed metalworking and camping.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Patricia Wetter of Orchard; his children, David (Linda) Wetter of Orchard, Julie (George) Glass of Oskaloosa, and Emily Wetter of Casa Grande, Arizona; three grandchildren, Andrew Glass of Lisle, Illinois, Tressa Glass of Cedar Falls, and Brandon Wetter of Cedar Falls; brother, Russell Wetter of Rudd; and sister, Rosetta (Keith) Shelledy of Mesa, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jeannette Chinnery.
