ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Eugene Arnold La Chapelle, Sr., 79, of St. Ansgar, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Queen of Peace Church, Lyle, Minnesota, with the Rev. Swaminatha Pothrieddy officiating. Burial will be Woodburry Cemetery, Lyle, Minnesota, at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, IA; 641-713-4920.

Eugene was born on December 22, 1935 to Jerome and Lena LaChapelle in White Earth, Minnesota.

He is survived by: his wife Linda LaChapelle; daughter Denise (Dan) Boerjan; sons, Gene LaChapelle, Robert(Tami Jensen) LaChapelle, Richard (Kathy) LaChapelle, Kevin (Denise) LaChapelle; stepsons, Jim Reams, Gene (Sandy) Reams, Lee Reams, David (Alison) Reams; 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by: his parents; grandparents; first wife Elayne LaChapelle; son, Jerry LaChapelle; brother Doyle LaChapelle.

NOTE: Burial will be later in Woodbury Cemetery, Mower county, Minnesota.
