Dean R. Seaton, age 95, of Osage, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, at the Osage Cemetery with military honors at the grave by Osage American Legion Post 278. Pastor Sam Mack will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a Masonic Service by Osage Masonic Lodge 102 A.F. & A.M. at 5:00 p.m.

Dean was born May 9, 1919, on a farm east of Osage, Iowa, the son of Roy and Hazel (Russel) Seaton. When Dean was two months old, he moved with his parents into the city of Osage. Dean attended Washington Grade School and graduated from Lincoln High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge, Dean and his brother, Ed, started Seaton Motor Sales in Osage. After the sale of that business, Dean began working for the U.S. Post Office in Osage. He worked there until he retired in 1979 as Post Master. Dean was a longtime member of Sunny Brae Country Club, the Masonic Lodge, and the Osage American Legion. He liked all sports, especially bowling and golf.

Dean is survived by his niece, Phoebe (Charles) Snittjer, a great-niece, Melissa Hemans, a great-great-nephew, Joseph, and a great-great-niece, Mia, all of Marietta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ed Seaton; and a sister, Veda (Seaton) Donald.
