Rosella Theoline Norby was born October 29, 1907 on a farm at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Carl Halsteinsen Norby and Ida Bertina Olsen, the first of their five children.
Rosella was baptized on November 24, 1907 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Lauritz Norby; Clara Olsen and Lars Iver Olsen. She was confirmed at RCLC on May 28, 1922.
Rosella married Alvin Karl Ahrens on August 29, 1930 at Rock Creek Lutheran, Meroa, Iowa.
The couple had six children:
Elaine,
Lois,
Dorothy,
Keith Wayne (b August 14, 1939 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, d December 10, 1939 Rochester, Olmsted, Minnesota);
Marlys Jean (b April 10, 1942 Osage, Iowa, d April 12, 1942 Osage, Iowa) and
Kenneth Alvin.
Found in the 1910 census at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa: Carl 35, Ida 26, Rosella T, 2, Herbert L. 9 mos.; Lawrence Adolph Olsen age 17.
Found in the 1915 - 1940 censuses at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1915: Rosella Norby age 7
1920: Carl Norby 45, Ida B Norby 36, Rosella T Norby 12, Herbert L Norby 9,Kenneth I Norby 4 yrs 3 mos.
1925: Carl Norby 50, Ida B Norby 41, Rossella T Norby 17, Herbert L Norby 14, Kenneth I Norby 9, Lorey H Norby 4.
1930: Rosella T Norby age 22.
1940: Alvin Ahrens age 34, Rosella 32, Elaine 8, Lois 5, Dorothy 2.
Rosella married Kalmar Livius Klemesrud on November 26, 1964 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had no children.
Rosella died August 6, 1991 at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa and was buried at Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa beside her first husband.
There is a memorial for her at Find a Grave #47173612.
