Deloris “Sally” Fox, age 83, of Osage, died Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the Faith Home in Osage.
According to Sally’s wishes, her body has been donated to the University Of Iowa with hope that her gift will assist research.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven with Rev. Steve Garner officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a scripture wake service at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed in Sally’s name to: Bridges Mentoring Program, P.O. Box 131, Osage, IA, 50461.
Deloris “Sally” Jean Fox was born May 24, 1931, near New Haven, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Daisy (Fitzl) Johanns. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in New Haven.
In 1950, Sally was united in marriage to H. Victor Fox at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven. To this union, seven children were born. They made their home on a farm near New Haven until retiring to Osage. Sally had a love of laughter and an even greater love for her family. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, quilting, fishing, and golfing. Sally was a member of the Osage American Legion Auxiliary, and St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Sally is survived by five children, Barbara Zimmerman of Tucson, Arizona, Kenneth Fox and his wife Patricia of Waverly, Colleen Fox of North Carolina, Linda Fett and her husband Jim of Waseca, Minnesota, Don Fox and his wife Jacque of Osage; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Jesse) Schearer and daughter Raegan; Matthew (Erin) Fox and children Katrina and Kenneth; Megan (Jeremy) Buckler and children Audrey and Hudson; Connor Orth; James (Pam) Fett; Devin (Samantha) Fox; Colin Fox; Aislinn Fox; two sisters, Ruth Jahnel and Lucy Schweiger; three brothers, Herb Johanns, Jerome Johanns, and James Johanns; son-in-law, David Orth; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor in 2002; two daughters, Kathryn Orth and Judy Fox; sister, Judy Johanns; brother, Maurice Johanns in infancy; and son-in-law Karl Zimmerman.
