ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Lloyd A. Kronemann, 101, died on Monday, December 1, 2014, at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 4, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, with Rev. David Werges officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.
Lloyd Albert Kronemann, son of Emil and Mary (Neumann) Kronemann, was born March 7, 1913, in rural Rock Township, Mitchell County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Mitchell County.
He was united in marriage to Wilma Rosel April 13, 1941, in Osage, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Judith, Lowell and Barbara. They made their home and farmed for 37 years south of Grafton. Although retiring from the business side of farming and moving to Grafton in 1978, he continued to be active in helping with the farm work when needed. (Retired but not tired.)
He served as a longtime 4-H leader, taught Sunday School and served on many committees at St. John’s Church, Grafton Elevator Board, Grafton Telephone board, St. Ansgar Mutual Insurance Board, FHA Board, Grafton and St. Ansgar School Boards, Winnebago Co-op Telephone Association Board. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his children: Judy (Chuck) Hansen, St. Ansgar, Lowell (Judy) Kroneman, Grafton, Barb Postl, Swisher, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Christine and Voun Hansen, Jason and Jeremy Janka, Jenae Kroneman Kaska and Kelli-Elena Kroneman, Kent and Kirk Postl; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law Twila Kroneman, Osage, Doris Erdman, St. Ansgar, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, of 67 years; his parents; brothers: Alvin, George, Rueben and Glenn; his sisters: Laura Wilde, Grace Tabbert, Myrtle Miller and Clara Ones; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; son-in-law, Mark Postl; and by four great-grandchildren: Preston, Jade, Hailey and Sammy.
