Hazel Halverson, 76, died Saturday afternoon, January 8, 1983 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, Iowa. Funeral services were held on January 11, 1983 at the LeRoy Lutheran Church with Rev. D. Hanson officiating, with burial in the LeRoy Cemetery.
Hazel Viola Halverson was born on May 23, 1906, to Knute and Anna Helgeson near Lyle, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Conrad Halverson on May 22, 1927 in Austin. They spent their early yeras on farms in northern Iowa until they purchased a farm at Taopi, Minnesota, in 1943 where they lived until retirement.
Hazel participated actively in the farming operation as well as enjoying her hobby of training and showing horses. In 1975 they moved to their home near LeRoy.
She is survived by her husband, Conrad; four daughters: Arlene (Mrs. Dean Lane) of La Mesa, Calif., JoAnn (Mrs. Virgil Underdahl) of Burnsville, Minnesota, Connie (Mrs. Dale Hendrickson) of Colwell and Linda (Mrs. LaVern Speer) of Nashua; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Clara Hass of Austin, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
