Maude Squier, 86, died Saturday, December 25, 1982, at a Stacyville nursing home. She was a longtime Osage area resident and has lived at the nursing home in Stacyville since 1973.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage with the Rev. James S. Pittman of the United Methodist Church in Osage officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Maude Jenkins was born August 21, 1896 in Olathe, Kansas, to William Henry and Audie Lee Jenkins. She was united in marriage to Home McCord. To this union one daughter Orahlee was born in 1916.
On September 19, 1923 she was married to Roy Squier at the Little Brown Church. To this union one son, Dale was born in 1929. They farmed in West Liberty Township until 1957 when they retired and moved to Osage.
She is survived by one daughter, Orahlee Ready of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, one son, Dale of Harrah, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Floyd of Waterloo and Paul of Osage; two sisters, Ida Cooper and Rebecca Jenkins of Osage; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1967.
