James “Jim” Oldenburger, age 74, of Osage, died Friday, October 24, 2014, at his home in Osage.

Services are pending at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.

James “Jim” Oldenburger, age 74, of Osage, died Friday, October 24, 2014, at his home in Osage.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Rev. Roy Ott officiating. There will be a time for light refreshments and fellowship following the service at the Osage Senior Citizens Center, 615 State Street, in Osage.

Jim was born October 19, 1940, in rural Allison, Iowa, the son of Fred and Edna (Koch) Oldenburger. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1958. On June 1, 1963, he married Mary Sells. To this union, four daughters were born. They later divorced. Jim worked at White Farm in Charles City and farmed north of Charles City for many years before moving to Osage.

On May 19, 2007, he married Diane Christiansen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Jim was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage. He was current president and past treasurer of the Osage Senior Citizens Center where he assisted with delivering congregate meals. Jim enjoyed dancing, traveling, gardening, watching sports and favorite TV shows, and playing cards at the Senior Center.

Jim is survived by his wife, Diane Oldenburger of Osage; his daughters, Vicki (Brian) Putney of St. Ansgar, Sherri (Chuck) Freiberg of Osage, Teresa Shaw of Osage, Jodi Schrupp of Garner; grandchildren, Melissa, Rachel, Tanner and Kaitlyn Putney, Susan (Justin) Ellison and Matthew Freiberg, Eric (Jessica) Shaw, Alyssa (Zach) Perrin and Elizabeth Shaw; and Joshua Shollenbarger; great-grandchildren, Jackson Ellison, Christian Perrin and Kaylee Perrin; step-children, Kelly Christiansen (husband, Randy Cox) and Aaron (Leslie) Christiansen, all of Bloomington, Minnesota; step-grandchildren, Cameron Cox and Corey Cox, Levi Christiansen and Alexander Christiansen; brothers and sisters, Marylou Baldwin, Robert (Dorothy) Oldenburger, Patricia (Sherman) Fox, Kathryn (Stan) Fox, and Steven Oldenburger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gary Oldenburger.
