CHICAGO - Joanne Marie Bristol, 59, passed away peacefully on July, 19, 2014, at her home in the Logan Square neighborhood in Chicago.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014, in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church in Osage followed by inurnment at the Liberty Cemetery in Little Cedar. Following the burial, a meal will be provided at the First United Methodist Church in Osage for family and friends.

Bristol suffered from a rare, devastating neurological disease called progressive supra nuclear palsy.

Bristol was an occupational therapist by trade, working mainly with babies and children. She loved her partner Mary Morse deeply and they shared a love of dancing, hiking, birding, cross country skiing and the outdoors in general.

She was born January 16, 1955, to the late Ralph and Maryetta Bristol.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved partner Mary Elizabeth Morse.

Joanne is survived by her brother Harry (Mary) Bristol and sister Margery Williams; nephews Tim Bristol, Jon Williams, Casey and Elliott (Lindsay) Payne and niece Emily Bristol; mother-in-law Frances Morse and Charles (Jere) Morse and Penney (David Miller) Morse.
