(Died September 2, 2014)

Sandy (Balsley) Lang, age 61, of Orchard, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Roy Ott and Rev. Bryan Lagerstam officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Following the service, there will be lunch and fellowship at the Osage American Legion Hall.

Sandy was born December 10, 1952, in Osage, the daughter of A.J. and Sandra (Hill) Balsley. She graduated from Osage High School. For 31 years, Sandy worked as a nurse’s aide at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. She was a caregiver by nature and enjoyed cooking for others. Sandy loved spending time with family, and coordinated many family get-togethers. She enjoyed her past three years serving as President of the Osage American Legion Auxiliary Post 278.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Cassie Lang of Clear Lake; her mother, Sandra Bower of Osage; three brothers, Kent (Tari) Balsley of Nora Springs, Brad (Jill) Balsley of Floyd, Richard (Tess) Balsley of Ames; two sisters, Jayne (Jeff) Olsen of Osage, Ginger (Brent) Hanson of Dike; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by a son, Blake Lang; her father, A.J. Balsley; and her sister, Merry Lynn Balsley.
