Marcella Ginder, age 92, of Osage, died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa. Cremation has taken place.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Marcella was born August 1, 1922, in New Haven, Iowa, the daughter of Mike and Clara (Krones) Michels. She graduated from Osage High School in 1940. Marcella worked in the Mitchell County Treasurer’s Office for five years. On July 11, 1945, she married Roger Ginder at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. They farmed in the Meyer area for fifty years and then retired to Osage. Marcella was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, baking, and crocheting.
Marcella is survived by her husband, Roger Ginder of Osage; her children: Michael (Darlene) Ginder of Rochester, Minnesota, Ann Kirsch of Osage, Patrick (Nancy) Ginder of Osage, Mary (Joe) Wherry of Buffalo, Minnesota, James (Emanuela) Ginder of Chiarini, Italy, Susan (Gary) Kellaway of Hope Mills, North Carolina; and numerous grandchildren, great-granchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Matt Michels; sister, Catherine Kurtz; and son-in-law, Danny Kirsch.
