Gjertrud Olsdatter Levordsen was born May 3, 1848 at Sor Aurdal, Oppland, Norway to Ole Putten Levordsen Storrustemoen and Oline Olsdatter Snoviken. She was baptized on June 25, 1848 at Sor Aurdal. Gjertrud emigrated with her parents in 1852 to Wisconsin.

Found in the 1860 census living at Albany, Green, Wisconsin: Ole Leverson 56, Oliah Leverson 41, Gertrude Leverson 13, Ole Leverson 6, Gurnelia Leverson 4, Andrew Leverson 14.

Gjertrud married Knud Olsen Haugen on March 27, 1868 at Green, Wisconsin.

The couple had four sons:
Olaus Knudsen (b June 21, 1869 York, Clark, Wisconsin, d 1957 Osage, Iowa);

Oscar Knudsen (b April 1872 Green, Wisconsin, d April 20, 1952 Osage, Iowa);

Carl Knudsen (b June 13, 1876 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, d May 4, 1959 Osage, Iowa) and

Oliver Knudsen (b September 30, 1880 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, d December 14, 1963 Osage, Iowa).

The couple moved in 1875 to Iowa.

1880: Knud Haugen 38, Gertrude Haugen 32, Olevas Haugen 11, Oscar Haugen 8, Carl Haugen 4, Nels Nelson 20, Vinie Rowley 19

1885: Knud O Hangen 43, Gertrude Hangen 36, Olous Hangen 16, Oscar Hangen 13, Carl Hangen 9, Oliver Hangen 4.

1900: Smud Haugen 58, Gertrud Haugen 52, Oscar Haugen 28, Karl Haugen 23, Oliver Haugen 19.

Found in the 1905 census at Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo, Iowa.

Found in the 1910, 1920 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:

1910: Knudt Olsen Haugen 67, Gertrude Olsdatter Levordsen Haugen 61.

1920: K O Haugen 77, Gertrude Haugen 71.

Gjertrud Haugen died February 12, 1927 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
