John Bastian Larson was born August 16, 1910 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, to Peter Bastian Larson and Breta Helen Johnson, the first of their three children.

John was baptized on September 4, 1910, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Mrs Lars Johnson; Ole Johnson; Erick Wahl and Alice Huseth. He was confirmed at RCLC on May 25, 1924.

Found in the 1915 - 1930 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:

1920: Peter B Lorson 55, Helen J Larson 42, John B Larson 9, Mary A Larson 6, Philip H Larson 3 yrs 5 mos.

1925: Peter B Larson 60, Hellen B Larson 47, John B Larson 14, Mary H Larson 11, Philip H Larson 8.

1930: Peter B Larson 65, Helen J Larson 52, John B Larson 19, Mary A Larson 16, Philip H Larson 13.

Found in the 1940 census at Laurens, Pocahontas, Iowa: John B Larson age 29, single, renting a room, attended 5 years college at University of Iowa, physician surgeon.

John married Elizabeth Ingeborg Shortridge on July 15, 1940 at Remen, Plymouth, Iowa. (Elizabeth born November 7, 1916 Missouri, d October 1976 Louisville, Kentucky).

The couple had three children, two girls and a boy. The family moved to Louisville, Kentucky between 1942 - 1948 where John was a pediatrician.

Dr John B Larson died January 31, 1991 at Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky and is buried at the Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky.
