Melvin Edward Klemesrud was born November 12, 1903 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Martin Cornelius Klemesrud and Elisabeth Marie Halsteinsdatter Norby, the second of their four children.
Melvin was baptized on December 20, 1903 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Olaus Nordby; Henry Nordby and Elise Nordby.
Found in the 1910 census at Hamlin, Nelson, North Dakota: Martin K Klunesrd 39, Elisabet Klunesrd 29, Cliford Klunesrd 8, Melvin Klunesrd 6, Thersa Klunesrd 4, Kinneth Klunesrd 1 yr 10 mos.
Found in the 1920 census at McVille, Nelson, North Dakota: Martin Klemesrud 49, Elisabeth Klemesrud 40, Clifford Klemesrud 18, Theresa Klemesrud 13, Melvin Klemesrud 16, Kenneth Klemesrud 11.
Melvin married Bertina Adella Eid on September 1, 1930. The couple had 1 daughter.
Found in the 1940 census at East Grand Forks, Polk, Minnesota: Melvin Klemesrud 36, Bertina Klemesrud 36, Beverly A Klemesrud 7.
Melvin died December 3, 1974 at San Jose, Santa Clara, California. Did not find his burial site.
