Nick Jeffrey, age 63, of Osage, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home. Following the funeral service, cremation will take place. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Osage Cemetery.
The family requests that those attending services dress in casual attire.
Nick was born August 8, 1950, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Roger and Shirley (Mosher) Jeffrey. He graduated from Rockford Senior High School. On May 10, 1975, Nick married Sandra Butters at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage. He worked at Osage Municipal Utilities for 24 years. Nick was a drag racing fan and raced at the Cedar Falls Raceway. He also loved working on cars. Nick enjoyed the many friends he made on the internet site Oldsmobile Forum. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Nick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandra Jeffrey of Osage; his daughter, Christina Rodemaker of Osage; three grandchildren, Riley, Abbi and Brady Rodemaker of Osage; his mother, Shirley Sturges of Rockwell; his mother-in-law, Donna Randall of Osage; sisters and brothers, Pam (Mike) Ryner of Rudd, Randy (Denise) Jeffrey of Rockford, and Pat Jeffrey of Rockwell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb (Mike) Nash of Brainerd, Minnesota, Robert (Patti) Butters of Port St. John, Florida, Michael (Diann) Butters of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Peggy (Barry) Martin of Titusville, Florida; and numerous other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Jeffrey; his step-father, Harley Sturges; and his son-in-law, Ron Rodemaker.
