Doris Marie Isaacs Olson Kuebler

Doris Marie Isaacs Olson Kuebler, 93, of Peoria, Arizona, and formerly of Osage, died Saturday, March 22, 2014.

Memorial services will be held on May 28 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage.

Doris Kuebler was born February 10, 1921 to Elmer and Cora Isaacs.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Harms of Sun City, Arizona; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Glenn Olson and Emil Kuebler, three brothers, twin sister and several nieces and nephews.

Doris Marie Kuebler

PEORIA, ARIZONA - A memorial service for Doris Kuebler, 93, of Peoria, Arizona, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with Military Honors by Osage America Legion Post 278. Doris Marie Kuebler died Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Peoria.

Doris was born February 10, 1921, on a farm in Mitchell County near Osage, the daughter of Elmer and Cora Isaacs. She and her twin sister, Dorothy, were baptized at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. They were confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. They sang in the junior and senior church choirs, attended country school and graduated from Osage Senior High School in 1938. After attending Teachers College in Cedar Falls, she taught country school for four years. Doris entered the service of her country as a Coast Guard SPAR for two and a half years. After World War II, she married Glenn B. Olson; to this union, a daughter, Dorothy Jean was born. They spent 25 years on the farm near Meroa. Doris was a 4-H leader for eight years.

After Glenn’s passing, Doris moved to Osage. She met her second husband, Emil Kuebler, while singing in the church choir. They spent 32 years together in Osage and winters in Peoria, Ariz. the last 12 years. Doris moved to Arizona permanently after Emil’s passing. She was able to meet and enjoy her first two great-grandsons because they also lived in Arizona.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Jean Harms of Sun City, Arizona; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; Anthony and Marcie Harms and their children, Jordyn and Colby of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Shane and Jacy Elrod and their children, Jessica and Kyler of Spring, Texas, Jonathon and Tracy Harms and their children, Hannah, Sarah, Emma, and Wyatt of Longville, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Cora Isaacs; husbands - Glenn Olson and Emil Kuebler; her twin sister and three brothers, Dorothy Lybarger, Garland Isaacs, Birchard Isaacs, and Robert Isaacs; several nieces and nephews.
