Avery Savre Brush was born March 15, 1917 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa to Avery Storm Brush (b August 10, 1890, d November 1, 1917) and Cora M Savre (b August 12, 1889, December 20, 1964 Iowa) one of their two children. His sister was Dell M.

Found in the 1920 - 1930 censuses living at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:
1920: Cora Brush 30, Dell Margaret Brush 5, Avery Saire Brush 2 yrs, 10 mos.

1925: Cora Bruah 34, Dell M Bruah 10, Avre G Bruah 7. Cora is widowed, her mother was Margaret Larson and father Ruste Savre, both from Norway.

1930: Cora S Brush 40, Dell M Brush 15, Avery S Brush 13, Margaret L Savre 83.

Avery graduated from Osage High School. He married Lorraine Dorothy Ketelsen on October 15, 1939 at Glenwood, Mills, Iowa. The couple had 2 children. (Baby Boy Brush born/died August 1951 at Spokane, Washington).

Found in the 1940 census at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Avery S Brush 23, Lorraine D Brush 22.

Avery served in the US Navy during WWII, enlisting January 27, 1943 and released October 9, 1945.

The couple moved to Idaho in 1945. He worked with the civil service, was an accountant for Idaho Water and then the city of Coeur d'Alene until retiring 1980. Lived the majority of their married life at Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Avery was a member of the St Luke's Episcopal Church, Kootenai Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite 32 degree Mason, Calam Temple of Lewiston, Couer d'Alene Shrine club and a former member of Elks Dance Band.

Avery Savre Brush died December 16, 1992 at Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai, Idaho. His funeral was held at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and he was inurned at the Forest Cemetery, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
