Harry W. Nicholson, age 94, of Mason City and formerly of Rudd, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the Osage Cemetery with military honors at the grave by Osage V.F.W. Post 7920.

Harry was born January 2, 1920, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Harry L. and Maude (Covey) Nicholson. He grew up in Osage. Harry served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Over the years, he was the owner/operator of a gas station in Plymouth, did lawn mower repair, and worked as a security guard. Harry enjoyed dancing and music and was so proud to be a veteran.

Harry is survived by his brother, Marshall Nicholson and wife, Jeanette of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Louis, Lester, Stanley, and Harold Nicholson; and one sister, Gladys Bessman.
