Cynthia Kay (Loecher) Johnson 1958-2014
After a long struggle with multiple sclerosis, Cynthia Kay (Loecher) Johnson, 56, of Adams, Minnesota, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Cindy was born Jan. 18, 1958, in Osage, Iowa, to Robert and Catherine (Hogeboom) Loecher. She graduated from Southland High School in 1976 and from the Austin VoTech in 1978. Cindy married Pat “Pete” Johnson on May 30, 1987 at Osage, Iowa. She was a former bank teller at Farmers State Bank.
Cindy enjoyed scrapbooking, watching old movies, genealogy, traveling with her husband and spending time with family, friends and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Robert Loecher, brother Joseph Loecher, nephew Adam Gorski, nieces Hope Loecher and Jodi Oulman and father-in-law Lawrence Johnson.
Cindy is survived by her husband Pat “Pete” Johnson, of Adams, Minnesota; son, Chad (Dawn) Roe, of Riceville, Iowa; grandchildren: Peyton, Carson and Gavin; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lynn (Dana) Gorski, of Waseca, Minnesota; Bev (Jim) Kohner, of Winona, Minnesota; brothers and sisters-in-law: John (Tammy) Loecher, of Adams; James (Kathy) Loecher, of St. Charles, Minnesota; Jeffrey (Jane) Loecher, of Adams; mother-in-law: Faye Johnson (special friend Johnnie Heinz), of Osage, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Vickie (Lynn) Brown, of Osage; Cindy (Dave) Bartusek, of Osage; brothers-in-law: Steve “Redbone” Johnson (special friend Beth Dohlman), of Riceville; Mike “Mooney” (Betty) Johnson, of Stacyville; nieces and nephews.
Honorary bearers will be Anthony Kohner, Ben Loecher, Zach Loecher, Christopher Bill, Brian Gorski, Cory Johnson, Trevor Bartusek, and Ethan Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and at the church for one hour before the service on Friday morning.
