Roman "Romey" Weber

(Died April 1, 2014)

Roman “Romey” Weber, age 89, of Osage, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Faith Home in Osage.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside inurnment services will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date. (Date and time of inurnment service will be posted later.)

Romey was born July 25, 1924, in Stacyville, Iowa, the son of Isidor and Catherine (Salz) Weber. He graduated from Visitation High School in Stacyville. After high school, Romey worked for Gilles Amusement Company repairing jukeboxes and pinball machines. He then opened “The Sport Shop” in Osage which he operated for many years. Romey was then employed as a design engineer at White Farm in Charles City until his retirement. He was an active member of the Osage Conservation Club and was a lifelong member of the NRA. Romey was an expert archer and was a certified gun safety instructor. He was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Roman is survived by his siblings, Dorothy Pelleymounter of Osage, Vincent Weber of Osage, Arnold Weber of San Francisco, California, Mildred (Jim) Rogers of Osage, Alice Kundo of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jim (Barb) Weber of Osage, and Mary McIntyre of Osage; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Armella Gomez, Jane Bostwick, and Harold Weber.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating.
