Jennings Palmer Johnsrud was born September 20, 1898 at Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Olaus Johnson Johnsrud and Nora Victoria Petersdatter Borsheim the third of their four children. He had two older sisters, Orlea Violeta and Stella Clara and a younger brother, Orin Linton. When Jennings was an infant, his parents moved their family to Minnesota.

Found in the 1900 census living at Fertile, Polk, MN: Olavus Johnsrud 29, Nora Johnsrud 26, Orlioa Johnsrud 5, Stella Johnsrud 4, Jennings Johnsrud 2.

Found in the 1910 census at Great Falls, Cascade, Montana: Oliver Johnsrud 39, Nora V Johnsrud 36, Orlie V Johnsrud 15, Stella Johnsrud 13, Jennings Johnsrud 11, Orvin Johnsrud 9.

Found in the 1920 census at District# 12, Sweet Grass, Montana: Olavus Johnson 49, Nora Johnson 46, Jenning Johnson 21, Oran Johnson 19.

Jennings married Johanna Grace Tetzloff on September 6, 1927 at Lewiston, Fergus, Montana. The couple had 2 daughters.

Found in the 1930 census living at Lewistown, Fergus, Montana: (fruits & vegetables salesman) Jennings P Johnsrud 31, Grace J Johnsrud 26, Lorraine R Johnsrud 11/12, Clara Mull 56.

Found in the 1940 census at Helena, Lewis and Clark, Montana: J J Johnsrud 41, Grace Johnsrud 36, Lorraine Johnsrud 11, Carol Johnsrud 2. He attended 4 yrs high school and is working as a Deputy United States Marshall ($1800 per year salary).

1959: Working as a jailer at Billings, Montana according to Billings City Directory. (Also appears in many City Directories on Ancestry.com.)

Jennings Palmer Johnsrud died August 23, 1959 at Billings, Yellowstone, Montana. Have not located his burial site.
