Gladys Verna Johnson was born December 10, 1898 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Johannes Bernhard Johnson (July 4, 1872 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa - August 1939 same) and Oline Marie Halvorsdatter Brenden (November 8, 1872 York, Green, Wisconsin - April 18, 1940 Silverton, Marion, Oregon), the youngest of their 3 children. She had 2 older brothers, Oswald Harold (1895-1963) and Johan Bernard (b 1896).

Found in the 1900 census living at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: John B Johnson 27, Lena Johnson 27, Oswald Johnson 6, Bert Johnson 3, Gladys Johnson 1, Carrie Anderson 32, Edna Borshem 23.

Found in the 1910 census at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Johannes Bernhard Johnson 37, Oline Marie Halvorsdatter Brenden Johnson 37, C*Ld Johnson 15, Johann Bernard Johnson 18[12], Gladys Johnson 11.

Found in the 1920 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: J B Johnson 47, Lena Johnson 47, Oswald Johnson 25, Gladys Johnson 21.

Gladys married Vernon Moore on September 10, 1922 at Mitchell County, Iowa; they had at least one son, Kenneth.

Found in the 1925 census at Mitchell, Mitchell, Iowa: Veron Moore 28, Gladys Moore 26.

Found in the 1930 census at Charles City, Floyd, Iowa: Vern J Moore 31, Gladys Moore 30.

Found in the 1940 census at Cedar Falls, Black Hawk, Iowa: Vernon J Moore 42, Gladys Moore 41, Kenneth Moore 9.

Gladys Moore died May 23, 1981 in Iowa and was buried at the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
