Adam Lippert was born October 26, 1864, at Ruegersgruen, Bavaria, Germany. In early infancy he was baptized at Hoechstaedt and later confirmed in the Lutheran church.
The deceased worked on his father's farm up to the time of his emigration. He came to this country April 1, 1893, and was first employed on a farm in Cedar township, Mitchell County.
Mr. Lippert was joined in marriage with Miss Lisette Bauer at St. Ansgar on September 16, 1893, and took up farming in St. Ansgar township. In 1906 he bought a farm in Mitchell township and lived there the rest of his life.
The deceased enjoyed good health until a few years ago when he suffered a slight stroke. His last illness, bronchial pneumonia, set in last Sunday, and the end came peacefuly last week Wednesday, July 26.
The days of his pilgrimage were 74 years and 9 months. He is survived by his widow, four sons, five daughters, seven grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and two step-sisters, the last four still in Germany. The chidren are Mrs. Carl Schutler, Osage, Iowa; Mrs. W.C. Withoft, Sheffield, Iowa; Mrs. M.A. Tresmer, St. Paul, Minn.; Miss Lucie Lippert, Milwaukee, Wis; Lawrence Lippert, Los Angeles, Calif.; Max and Clarence at home; Mrs. S.A. Nichols, Iowa City; William Lippert, Milwaukee, Wis.
Funeral services were held at Immanuel's Lutheran church and cemetery, Rev. Paul Brammer officiating.
Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Philip Bauer, Milton, Wis.; Harold Bauer, Milton, Wis.; Mrs. Mary Traeger, Harold and Henry of Keldron, S.D.; Mrs. Charles Askin, Sioux Falls, S.D.
