OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 2 P.m. at the home and at 2:30 at the First Methodist Church for Mrs. Ernest A. Counsell, 71, who died Sunday, at her home on West Main Street, Osage, having been in ill health the last few years, burial in Osage Cemetery.
Born of Quaker, English and Dutch ancestors, as Clarissa Eleanor Carver to John Wesley and Mary Rambau Carver at Hull, Iowa, December 17, 1878. In that area she spent her girlhood and as a young girl moved with the family to Spencer where she was married June 29,1899, to Ernest A. Counsell. They first lived at Spencer, then at Morris, Minn., in Hancock County, coming in the early 1900's to Mitchell County, near New Haven, east of Osage, where they lived until their retirement, moving to Osage in 1945.
She leaves her husband; two children, Mrs. E. L. Harrison, Riceville, and Ernest J. Counsell, on the home farm; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; six sisters: Mrs. Ralph Brownell, Long Beach, California; Mrs. Fred Warburton, Redwood City, California; Mrs. Beatrice Counsell, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Bernice Hand, Ida, Arkansas; Mrs. Earl Peters, Terra Haute, Indiana, and Mrs. Lola Perry, Los Angeles, California.
Preceding her were an infant son, John, four brothers and four sisters.
