Rollef Isaaksen (also known as Robert Isaacs) was born November 1829 at Norway. Believe he emigrated 1850 to Wisconsin and married a Susan (maiden name Unknown, born abt 1840 Norway) probably abt 1857 at Wisconsin.
They had 3 children (all born at Strongs Prairie, Adams, Wisconsin):
Rena Mary (b 1858) and
twins Cornelia Olava and Cornelius "Ole" (twins born 1860).
Family found in the 1860 census living at Strongs Prairie, Adams, Wisconsin: Robert Isaacson age 29, born in Norway, $800 in real estate, $200 in personal; wife Susan, age 20, born in Norway; daughter Rena Marie age 1 born in Wisconsin; brother Andrew Isaacson age 25, born in Norway.
Believe Susan died between 1860-1864 at Adams, Wisconsin and Rollef moved with his 3 children to a farm in Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa.
He married Randvi Maria Aadsdatter Himle (b February 4, 1836 Voss, Hordaland, Norway, d April 9, 1871 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa) on October 7, 1865 at the First Lutheran Church at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.
The couple had 2 children (both born at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa):
Steena Susannah (b 1867) and
Edward (March 11, 1868 - 1935 Buchanan, Stutsman, North Dakota).
(Note: Randvi had been married first to a Steen Nelson and had a daughter named Cecelia Maria Nelson (b May 20, 1863, d January 17, 1890).
Found in the 1870 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Robt Isaacs 40, Maria Isaacs 33, Rena Mary Isaacs 12, Cornelia Isaacs 10, Cornelius Isaacs 10, Cecelia Mary Nelson 7, Stena Nelson 4 (should be Isaacs), Edward Nelson 3 (should be Isaacs), James Benson 22.
Two years after Randvi Maria's death, Robert married Johanna Palm (b March 24, 1851 Sweden to Hanna and Nels Palm, emigrated 1872, d January 7, 1914 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa). Johanna was 21 years younger than Robert.
They had seven children (all born at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa):
Rakel (October 8, 1874 - August 29, 1938 Benson, North Dakota);
Elisabeth (March 26, 1876 - December 24, 1916 Mitchell Co, Iowa);
Nels Adolf (February 17, 1878 - October 22, 1946 Butler, Kansas);
Hannah Christine (February 5, 1882 - November 13, 1909 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa);
Ralph Jessie (April 28, 1889 - November 8, 1955 Wichita, Kansas);
Clarence Martin (January 25, 1891 - June 29, 1969 Rice Lake, Barron, Wisconsin) and
Elmer Cornelius (January 27, 1895 - November 6, 1976 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa).
Found in the 1880 - 1910 censuses living on a farm at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1880: Robert Isacson 50, Johanna Isacson 28, Susan Isacson 13, Edward Isacson 12, Rachel Isacson 5, Eliesabeth Isacson 4, Nels Isacson 2, Ole Isacson 18, Christoph Paulson 21.
1885: Robert Isaacs 55, Johanna Isaacs 33, Cornelia Isaacs 23, Oley Isaacs 23, Susan Isaacs 18, Edward Isaacs 15, Rachel Isaacs 10, Lessy Isaacs 8, Nels Isaacs 7, Hannah Isaacs 3.
1895: Robert Isaacs age 65.
1900: Nils A Isaac 22, Robert Isaac 70, Johana Isaac 49, Hannah C Isaac 18, Relph J Isaac 11, Clarence M Isaac 9, Almer K Isaac 5, Elisabeth Finsand 24, Nora J Finsand 3.
1905: Robert Isaacs, Johanna, Elizabeth, Ralph, Clarence, Elmer, Louis Sorensen, Norah Isaacs.
1910: Robert Isaacs 80, Johanna Palm Isaacs 59, Ralph Isaacs 20, Elizabeth Isaacs 34, Clarence Isaacs 19, Elmer Isaacs 16, Nora Finsand 13.
Robert Isaacs died December 31, 1910 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried in January of 1911 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
