RITES HELD FOR
MRS. CHRIS DEBERG

Funeral services for Mrs. Chris DeBerg, 64, were held June 26, 1971. Mrs. DeBerg, a former resident of the Osage area, died of a heart attack on June 23, 1971.

Services were held at the First United Presbyteran church in Cedar Falls, and burial was at Grundy Center.

Margaret Johnson was born on March 10, 1907, in Floyd county, Iowa, the daughter of Carl O. and Trena Sulland Johnson.

Chris DeBerg and Margaret Johnson were married on February 16, 1950, in Quincy, Illinois. She taught music in the New Hampton public schools and was choir director at the first United Methodist church in Cedar Falls. She was also a member of a church circle and the Cedar Falls Women's Club. She was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.

Surviving are her husband, Chris; one brother, Conrad S. Johnson of Osage, Arkansas; and one sister, Mrs. Victor Dieterichs (Ruth) of Osage.

Her husband was Christian DeBerg (8 JAN 1902 - AUG 1983). Chris and Margaret are buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center, Grundy county, Iowa.

She was Christian's first wife. His second was Wilma Louise Brewer (13 JUN 1911 - 25 JAN 2004)
Wilma's first husband was Theodore Dieterichs, and Wilma is buried next to him, at Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Township, Mitchell county, Iowa, as "Wilma L. Dieterichs."
