AMANA, IOWA - Clarice Kirkeby Olswold, 94, of Amana, formerly of Osage, died Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Per her wishes, her body was donated to the University of Iowa for medical research.
A Memorial Service will be held in January. Memorials may be contributed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Walford. Inurnment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

#2:AMANA, IOWA - Clarice Olswold, 94 of Amana, died Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Per her wishes, her body was donated to the University of Iowa for medical research.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walford with Reverend Travis Borkosky. Family will receive friends after 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be contributed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Walford. Inurnment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
Clarice is survived by her sons, Eugene of New Ulm, Minnesota, Charles (Alice) of Muscatine, Richard (Bonnie) of Middlesex, New York, and Ronald (Debbie) of Walford; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a half sister Iva Nelson of Ames and a sister-in-law Kathy Olswold of DeSota, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence L. Olswold in February, her son Allen in July and a sister Ethel Muller.
Clarice Hilma Kirkeby Olswold was born January 6, 1919 in Osage, the daughter of Clarence and Olga Brenden Kirkeby. She received her education in the Osage schools and married Clarence Olswold on Aug. 16, 1941 in Osage. They made their home in Osage where her husband operated a plumbing business. In 1967 the couple moved to the Amana and Williamsburg area.
Clarice was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and needlework.
Due to failing health, the couple recently had made their home at Colonial Manor of Amana. Clarence passed away February 2, 2013.
Clarice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Walford.
