FUNERAL HELD FOR
MRS. VERN MORRIS

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for an Osage woman, Mrs. Vern Morris, 77, who died Sunday morning at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Morris had been in failing health during the past several months and had been a resident at the Osage Nursing Home.

Laura Hough was born near Osage, Iowa, on April 2, 1894, the daughter of Lorenzo and Loretta Hatcher Hough. She attended the rural school near her home.

Vern Morris and Laura Hough were united in marriage in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on December 5, 1922. Osage had remained their home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on February 14, 1956; her parents and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, LaVerne of Fairmont, Minnesota; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Hough of Sumner; and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Hudson of Des Moines.
