DIED, RITES TUESDAY

Funeral services were held on Tuesday for Mrs. Agnes Klemesrud, 89, who died Friday at Faith Home. She had been ill since she was injured in a fall on December 22, 1970, and was confined to Faith Home two weeks.

Rev. D. Berg, church pastor, was in charge of the services at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Arrangements were by C.R. Champion and Sons, and burial was in the church cemetery.

Anna Agnethe (Agnes) Johanson (Johnson) was born in Rock township, Mitchell county, Iowa, on May 4, 1881, the daughter of Jens and Ingeborg Johanson. She attended the rural schools in Rock township.

John A. Christianson and Agnes Johnson were married on May 4, 1902. He died in September, 1932. Her marriage to Herman Klemesrud took place in November 1936. She was a lifelong member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church.

Surviving are one son, Alvin Christianson of Waterloo; three step-daughters: Mrs. Ingvald Sponheim (Alice), Mrs. Edwin Maakestad (Helen), and Mrs. Louise Dieterichs of Osage; three step-sons: Kalmar Klemesrud of Osage, Knud Klemesrud of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and Herman Klemesrud of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Shoger of Osage, and Mrs. Julius Anderson (Matilda) of Mason City; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, two children, Mrs. Rosel Ostrander and Glenn Christianson; her parents, four brothers and one sister.

After Johan's death, she married Herman​​ Knudsen Klemesrud on November​​ 26, 1936 at Osage, M​i​tchell, Iowa.

Found in the 1940 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Herman K Klemesrude 72, Agnes 58.

Agnes died Feb​ruary 1​9, 1971 at Osage, Mitc​hel​l, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran ​Cemetery, Meroa, ​Mitchell, Iowa.​
