Funeral services will be held Friday for Mrs. Zulma Serleth, 78, who died Tuesday morning at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage. Mrs. Serleth had been in failing health for several months.
The Rev. John Kessler, pastor, will be in charge of rites at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are being made by C.R. Champion and Sons and burial will be made at Sacred Heart cemetery.
Zulma Marie Dezutter was born in Zulte, Belgium on August 29, 1892, the daughter of Leo and Pelazie Reebroch Dezutter. She came to the United States in 1912, settling in Omaha.
Jules Serleth and Zulma Dezutter were married on June 22, 1914. They lived in Omaha and southern Iowa before coming to Mitchell county. They engaged in farming here.
Mrs. Serleth was a lifelong member of the Catholic church.
Surviving are six children: Mrs. Lloyd Nack (Bertha) of Osage, George of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. John Speers (Irene) and Eugene Serleth of Janesville, Wisconsin, Mrs. Edgar Wardlaw (Elaine) of Altus, Oklahoma, and Morris Serleth of Mason City; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Jules; her parents; and two sisters.
