Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 12, 1987, at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa, for Sidney Morris Hofland, 86. Rev. G. Grant officiated, and burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa.
Mr. Hofland died Sunday, May 10, 1987 at the Preston Care Center, Preston, Minnesota.
Sidney Morris Hofland was born November 24, 1900 in Union Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, the son of Elling and Gertrude (Engesetter) Hofland. He was confirmed at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church, Lyle, Minnesota. He worked as a farm hand all of his life, until he retired. He served in the Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Oscar and Alfred.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Martha Schulze of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and Mrs. Ella Dieterich of Northwood, Iowa; one brother, Eugene of St. Ansgar; three nieces, Mrs. Arlene Anderson of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Mrs. Erma Hanson of Northwood, Iowa, and Mrs. Elaine Losee of Dodge Center, Minnesota; two nephews, Mr. Eugene Schulze of St. Ansgar, and Mr. Allen Hofland of St. Ansgar.
