Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Mary Anne Jennings, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2013, after a brief illness.
Mary Anne was born on November 20, 1931, to Lester Jay and Marjorie Anne Coon in New Oregon Township, Iowa.
She met and married Averald M. (Al) Jennings in January 1951, and the family moved to Yerington, Nevada in 1954. In 1964, she and her family moved to Carson City Nevada, where Mary Anne went to work for the State of Nevada Department of Education as secretary to the Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction, a position she held for 30 of the 32 years she was with the Department.
She retired in August 1997 after which she enjoyed her many group memberships and her hobbies of quilting and making greeting cards. Mary Anne was Past President of the State of Nevada Rebekah Assembly, an active member of the First United Methodist Church as well as the American Legion Auxillary Capital Unit 4.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, David Jay Jennings. She is survived by her sons: Rex (Jackie) Jennings, Tim Jennings, and Tod Jennings; daughters, Sandra Egoscue and Hope Tingle; granddaughters Serena (Matt) Janeway, Amy Jennings and Tyler Jo-Beth Jennings; grandsons Charles (Lucy) Jennings and Noah Jennings; step-grandsons Andrew (Coleen) Munoz and Brandon Munoz; great grandson Patrick Broussard and soon to be born Nolan Jennings; step-great-grandsons Rowan and Garret Munoz and step-granddaughter Piper Munoz.

NOTES:
Mary Anne lived in Osage in 1945:Osage, Iowa — Mrs. Averald Jennings received word of the death of her nephew, Pfc. Charles Jehle, 21, at Okinawa, June 9, as a member of the U. S. infantry.
Pfc. Charles Jehle was known in the Osage vicinity as he visited here often. He entered service last October.
Surviving are his mother, a brother, 11, and a sister, 9, all at West Liberty.
