OSAGE, IOWA - Judy Faye Martin, 66, of Osage, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Judy Martin 1947-2013

(Died August 2, 2013)

Judy Faye Martin, age 66, of Osage, died Friday, August 2, 2013, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Private graveside inurnment services will be held at a later date.

Judy was born February 22, 1947, in Cove City, North Carolina, the daughter of Lester and Edna (Broadway) Wooten. She graduated from high school in Fort Barnwell, North Carolina, in 1964. Judy met Alvin Martin, Sr. while he was in the U.S. Marine Corps and they were married in Cove City, NC. To this union three children were born.

After Al’s retirement from the Marine Corps in 1981, they returned to Al’s hometown of Mason City. Judy owned and operated Royal Cleaning Services with her daughter for ten years. They closed the business when her husband Al died suddenly in 1998. She then moved to North Carolina, and had recently returned to Iowa to be closer to her family and grandchildren. Her family will remember her for her joyful laugh and her stories that she loved to tell of the past.

Judy is survived by her children, Doug (Shelia) Martin of Osage, Angela Martin-Dutcher of Forest City, and Alvin Martin, Jr. of Osage; 11 grandchildren, Randy Martin, Ashley Martin, Heather Martin, Danielle McMurray, Amanda McMurray, Lee Dutcher, Terri Foster, Samantha Martin, Zachery Martin, Logan Martin and Winston Martin; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Alvin.
