OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Claude A. Best, 69, a former Osage resident, who died Thursday at a Mason City hospital, will be 1 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Mason City; burial in Osage Cemetery about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel; two sons, Clarence of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, and Jerry of Iowa City; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Kathryn) Kuehl of Waterloo and Mrs. I. H. (Dorothy) Morris of Kirkland, Washington.
Sheckler Funeral Home in Nora Springs in charge of arrangements.

Claude Arthur Best was born December 29, 1908, the son of Clarence Arthur and Amy May (Young) Best.His father died when Claude was three in Feb. 1912, and Mrs. Best and children moved to Osage. His mother died March 1931
He married Hazel R. Sedlacek on October 2, 1933, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. They lived in St. Ansgar for five years, Osage for a couple of years, and then moved to Mason City.
Claude worked as a carpet, tile, and formica layer while Hazel served as his secretary and sold Tupperware. They were members of the First United Methodist Church of Mason City.
Survived by his wife, Hazel; two sons, Clarence A. Best of Madison, Wisconsin, Jerold A. Best and wife Judy of Iowa City, Iowa; grandsons Bradley, Brandon, Blair, and Terry; granddaughters, Denise and Brenda; two sisters, and Kathryn (Earl) Kuehl, Waterloo and Dorothy (Harleigh) Morse, Washington.
Claude died at a Mason City hospital February 2, 1978, of cancer. Funeral services were February 6, 1978 at the Osage First United Methodist Church and burial was in Osage Cemetery.
