Evelyn Haugen was born April 25, 1902 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Olaus Knudsen Haugen and Jane Lydia Elizabeth Maakestad, the sixth of nine children. She was baptized at Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and confirmed on June 11, 1916 at same.
Found in the 1905 - 1920 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1910: Olaus Knudsen Haugen 40, Jane Lydia Isabella Maakestad Haugen 42, Gertie Haugen 16, Agnes Haugen 13, Olga Haugen 11, Norman Haugen 9, Evelyn Haugen 7, Ernest Haugen 5, Margaret Haugen 3.
1920: Olaus K Haugen 50, Lydia I Haugen 51, Gertia C Haugen 26, Norma H Haugen 19, Evelyn Haugen 17, Ernest R Haugen 15, Margaret Haugen 13, Arthur Haugen 8.
Evelyn married Wilbur Frederick Oldenberg (1900-1966) on June 12, 1928 at Nashua, Iowa. The couple had one daughter, Carol Kay Oldenberg (1935-1958).
Found in the 1930 census living at Lester, Lyon, Iowa: Wilber Oldenburg 29, Evelyn Oldenburg 25.
Evelyn Oldenberg died May 22, 1896 at Rock Rapids, Lyon, Iowa and was buried at the Riverview Cemetery, Rock Rapids, Lyon, Iowa.
