Anna Haraldsdatter was born January 15, 1827 at Hedalen, Oppland, Norway to Gunhild and Harald Mikkelsen [Not 100% sure of the parents' names].

She married Ole Olsen Haugen on March 31, 1856 at Sondre Aurdal, Hedalen, Oppland, Norway. Marriage record found at Norwegian Digital Archives on line for Hedal in Sor Aurdal, Oppland, Norway 1849-1876, page 131, entry #5. Ole Olsen age 28 yrs 6 mos; Anna Haraldsdatter age 29.

The couple had 8 children: Anna, Carrie, Olia, Gunhild (Julia), Marith (Mary), Harold (Harry), Annethe (Nettie) and one unknown name.

Family emigrated May 1878 to Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and first lived with the Knud Klemesrud family.

Found in the 1880 - 1905 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:

1880: Ole Olieson age 46, laborer, born in Norway; wife Anna age 42, keeping house, born in Norway, Harry Olieson age 9, born in Norway, Annethe, age 4 at home, born in Norway.

1885: Ole C Hangen (should be Haugen) 56, Anna Hangen 56, Anna Hangen 26, Carrie Hangen 23, Lena Hangen 21, Julia Hangen 19, Marry Hangen 17, Harry Hangen 14, Nettie Hangen 8.

1900: Haral Hangen 30, Ole Hangen 72, Annie Hangen 73, Gulia Hangen 35, Nettie Hangen 24. Says 8 children, 6 living in 1900.

1905: Ole O Haugen, Anna, Julia, Harry, Nettie.

Anna Haugen died March 5, 1907 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
