Peter Halvorson was born March 31, 1879 at Framstadeiet, Gran, Hadeland, Oppland, Norway to Halvor Iversen Dammen Halvorson and Ragnhild Pedersdatter Horgen, the second of their four children. Peter was baptized and confirmed in Norway.
He emigrated May/June 1882 to Iowa with his parents and siblings: Iver, Sophie and Henry. His sister, Sophie Marie (born February 6, 1881 Norway) died on the trip to America. Peter was a farmer, he never married, no children.
Found in the 1900 - 1940 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:

Peter Halvorson died February 27, 1969 at Floyd or Mitchell, Iowa. He is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
