Funeral services were held on Monday, October 20, 1986, at Conway Funeral Chapel in Riceville, for Lester Yager, 87, a lifetime resident of Riceville. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. Mr. Yager died on Monday, October 17, 1986, at the Stacyville Nursing Home.
Mr. Yager was a longtime newspaper printer and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Erwin (JoAnne) Byrnes of Osage; a son, Keith of Riceville; a brother, Donald of Polson, Montana; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Carpender of Immaculate Conception Church officiated, and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Riceville. Mr. Yager died on Friday, October 17, 1986 at the Stacyville Nursing Home.
Mr. Yager was born on December 7, 1898 in Riceville, to Henry and Ada Yager. He and Lucille Hubbard were united in marriage in Riceville. Lester organized the first concert and marching band in the Riceville School system. He also played in "Toe Teasers" dance band.
His wife, Lucille, his parents and a sister, Lillian Staber, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. JoAnne Byrnes of Osage; and a son, Keith Yager of Riceville; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchidlren; and a brother, Donald Arthur Yager, of Polson, Montana.
