CARTER, MEIKLE, FESSENDON

Funeral services were held Monday, March 31, 1986 at Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Hugh Carter, 87, of Osage, who died on Tuesday, March 27, 1986, at a Stacyville nursing home. Rev. J. Pittman officiated, and burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Charles City, Iowa.
He was born October 8, 1898 near McIntire, Iowa, to James J. and Maggie (Meikle) Carter. He married Helen Fessendon at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, on October 10, 1923. They farmed near McIntire and later in the Colwell area. In 1968 they retired from farming and moved to Osage.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Helen of Osage; a son, Dale of McIntire; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
