Osage, Iowa — Joan M. Jacobs, 76, of Osage died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, at the United Church of Christ in Osage with the Rev. Duane A. Lookingbill officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Joan M. Jacobs, age 76, of Osage, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at the United Church of Christ in Osage with the Rev. Duane A. Lookingbill officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Joan was born January 9, 1937, in Osage, the daughter of Herbert and Alice (Moe) Norby. On June 10, 1961 she was united in marriage to Francis Jacobs at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. She spent her entire married life living with Francis on a farm northeast of Osage. Joan worked for a number of years as a dietary aide at the Faith Lutheran Home. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the M.I. Club. Joan especially enjoyed baking for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved doing things with and for her whole family.
Joan is survived by her husband, Francis Jacobs of Osage; her children, Steve (Joan) Jacobs of Osage, Debbie (Todd) Tibstra of Blaine, Minnesota, Dan Jacobs of Osage; nine grandchildren, Trey (Amber) Jacobs, Cory (Robyn) Jacobs, Allison and Rachael Jacobs, all of Osage, Michael and Ryan Tibstra of Blaine, Minnesota, Jamie, Brenna, and Joe Jacobs of Osage; four great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Addison, Corbin, Madden; a sister, Marlys Smith, of Memphis, Tennessee; and two brothers, Marvin (Edna) Norby of Osage, Dean (Jane) Norby of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
