Enge John Johnson
Funeral services were held on June 8, 1987, at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, for Enge John Johnson, 84, of Carpenter. He died on June 5, 1987 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Rev. E. Franke officiated. Burial was in the Newburg Cemetery, Carpenter, with Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar in charge of arrangements.
Enge John Johnson was born September 12, 1902, in Faribault County, Minnesota, to Anton and Sena (Wangen) Johnson. He married Amanda Johnson on November 22, 1926 in Blue Earth, Minnesota. They farmed in the Bricelyn area as well as well as the Thompson and Fertile, Iowa areas. In 1969 they retired to Carpenter. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed coffee time with many friends in the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers and a granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda of Carpenter, Iowa; two sons, Donald K. of Northwood; Dennis (Tiny) of Carpenter; one sister, Selma Houkoos of Walter, Minnesota; four brothers: Clarence of Waseca, Alfred of Blue Earth, Vernon of Wells, Harold of Austin; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
