Eugene ‘Geno’ Wagner

OSAGE, IOWA – Eugene “Geno” Wagner, age 86, of Osage, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Monsignor John Hemann officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m., Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Eugene was born July 6, 1926, in Osage, the son of Edward and Jessie (Tibbits) Wagner. He attended Mitchell County country schools through the eighth grade. Geno was a farmer his entire life. He was united in marriage to Magdaline Kloberdanz on November 5, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage.

Geno was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, camping, playing pool, gambling and playing cards.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Magdaline, of Osage; his five children: Sharon (Larry) Schluter, of Osage; Karon Clark and Jerry Rogers, of Osage; Carol (Robert) Clark, of Osage; Donna (Jim) Sonberg, of Osage; Duane (Wendy) Wagner, of Osage; 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard (Sandra) Wagner, of Osage; and a sister, Marcella Chrencik, of Osage.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
