Funeral services for Eileen Elta Bemus, age 82, of 531 Eldora Road, Hudson, were held Wednesday, September 27, 2000, 2:30 p.m., at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Hudson. Pastor Fred Tessmer conducted the services with Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, in charge of arrangements. Burial at the Hudson Cemetery.

Eileen passed away at Cedar Valley Hospice, Sunday, September 24, 2000, due to cancer.

She was born February 16, 1918, in Halliday, North Dakota, the daughter of Edward and Aletha Burns Gooder. She graduated in 1934 from Riceville High School in Riceville, Iowa She was united in marriage with Lyman J. Bemus on February 17, 1935.

Eileen was a charter member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church where she was an active member at the time of her death.

She is survived by two daughters; Beverly Kvidera of Waterloo, and Celeste O'Brian of Hudson; two sons, Gary Bemus and Leigh Bemus, both of Hudson; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorials may be directed to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
