OSAGE, IOWA — Maxine (Francis) Dostart, 92, of Osage, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Msgr. John Hemann officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m.

Maxine (Francis) Dostart, age 92, of Osage, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Msgr. John Hemann officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m.

Maxine was born December 28, 1920, in Clear Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Otha and Wanda (Lundy) Francis. She graduated from Orchard High School in 1939. On November 11, 1939, she married John Dostart at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven, Iowa. Maxine worked for Kresge’s for 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, winters in Texas, doing word search puzzles, fishing and playing cards.

Maxine is survived by her children, Patricia Theilen of Osage, Barbara (Leonard) Thomas of Gardiner, Montana, Steve (Tina) Dostart of Evansdale; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Betty Kleckner of Osage, Juanita Halvorson of Osage; and sister-in-law, Zella Francis of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 2000; her children, Jerry and Joan Dostart; grandchild, Donal Theilen; son-in-law, Ted Theilen; brothers, Melvin Francis, Keith Francis, and Gerald Francis; sisters-in-law, Martha Francis, Harriet Francis and Lucille Francis; and brothers-in-law, Bernie Kleckner and Louis Halvorson.
