William Briggs – February 1850 – October 1939

WILLIAM BRIGGS 89, SUCCUMBS AT CRESCO; BURIED AT RICEVILLE

Riceville – The body of William Briggs, 89, was brought to Riceville for funeral services and burial, this having been his home until a few years ago, when he was taken to Cresco to be cared for.

Funeral services were held at Shoop’s Funeral Home and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. He never was married.

He is survived by three brothers; Henry of Austin, Minnesota; Joseph of Waterloo; and Deese of California.

Note***William Briggs was born February 1850 in Illinois, the son of Thomas Briggs and Susan (Johnson) Briggs.
