Eva Elaine (Kitt) Asfhal – March 31, 1933 – December 25, 2000

Elaine was born on March 31, 1933 to Eva DeHart and Vearl Kitt. She was born in the farm house near Wauneta, Nebraska. She was the youngest grandchild of John and Sarah Kitt who homesteaded in 1893, south of Wauneta. She grew up on the farm.

In 1945 the family moved to University Park, Iowa so that her two older sisters could attend college. She followed her sisters to college in 1951 to study music. After graduating she was hired at Vennard College to be a professor of music.

Marv and Elaine were joined in marriage December 15, 1960 in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. To his union two children were born, Jon and Joy.

Elaine and Marv were missionaries and lived in many places in their married life. They served in Brazil. Jon was born in 1966 and Joy was born in 1969. They came back to the states in 1974 and Marv was a pastor in Marion, Ind., and then a Youth Pastor in Wilmore, Ky.

In 1980 they moved to Costa Rica, Central America with Young Life. In 1990 Marv and Elaine moved to the Domnican Repubublic for eight years.

Elaine left to mourn her husband, Marvin; her children, Jon and Joy and grandchildren, Ksara, Kaylie and Annie Mason and Perrin Asfahl; two sisters, Verla Diller of Bluffton, Ohio and Darlene Bellus and husband, Charles of Marion, Indiana.
She passed away on Dec. 25, 2000 in an airplane. They were enroute to Los Angeles, California, to see their son and daughter and families there.
She was laid to rest in Riceville, Iowa, March 31, 2001.

Eva Elaine Kitt married Marvin Asfahl, the son of Ralph Sylvester Asfahl and Illa (Gibbs) Asfahl.
