OSAGE, IOWA — Services for John W. Karwac, 67. who died Tuesday night at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage are pending at the Champion Funeral Home.
Survivors are his wife, Juanita; a son Jerry of Yorktown, VA; a daughter. Mrs. Clarence Schallock, of Orchard; a sister, Mrs. Helen Horton, of Chicago, Illinois; and four grandchildren.

Landmark for
32 Years, SoldOSAGE, IOWA — Mr. and Mrs. John Karwac, owners of a bakery that has stood on the same corner of Osage for the past 32 years, said Wednesday they have sold their business.
Leaving the bakery will end 50 years of serving Osage people for Karwac who worked in various bakeries and cafes before he entered business for himself.
The Karwacs sold their bakery to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hollender of Rochester who will be moving to Osage shortly.
Mr. and Mrs. Karwac will assist the Hollenders int he bakery until the transition is complete.
