STACYVILLE, IOWA — Doris Alma Lucille (Berg) Hansen, 89, of Stacyville, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville.

Public visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Private funeral services will be held with burial in Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle, Minnesota.

The family suggests that memorials may be directed to the Stacyville Community Nursing Home or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage.

Doris Alma Lucille (Berg) Hansen, age 89, of Stacyville, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville.

Public visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Private funeral services will be held with burial in Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle, Minnesota.

The family suggests that memorials may be directed to the Stacyville Community Nursing Home or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage.

Doris was born March 2, 1923, in Osage, Iowa, to Hans and Mary (Nelson) Berg. On July 17, 1941, she married Christian Hansen in Princeton, MO. On December 4, 1947, they welcomed their son, Jeffrey. Doris was soft spoken and had a big heart. She loved to entertain. Her house was always full of friends and family. She will be remembered for her hospitality and always having her coffee pot going. Doris also enjoyed traveling and had many fond memories of her trip to Norway with her sister, Connie. During the trip, they were happy to reconnect with family.

Doris is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Abbie) Hansen; grandchildren, Jeremy Hansen and Heather (Mohammed) Hansen Laaboudi; great-grandchildren, Malik and Ismael; her sister, Connie Dammen; her sisters-in-law, Candace Berg and Dorothy Berg; many nieces and nephews and all their children that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Christian; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Orville and Georgia Berg, Clifford and Madeline Berg, Norman Berg, and Kermit Berg.
